Statement of Faith

The CCSA, as a Christian faith-based organization, we believe in the following:

  1. We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired and infallible Word of God and is authoritative in matters of Christian belief and conduct.
  2. We believe that there is but one living and true God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ is both fully Divine and fully Human.
  4. We believe that humans were created in the image of God, that we sinned, and in consequence incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death (separation from God).
  5. We believe that the death of Jesus Christ on the cross is sufficient for the atonement of all of humankind sins.
  6. We believe that God in His mercy and grace saves all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ, justifying them through faith in the Saviour and them new life by the Holy Spirit.
  7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust, and in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed and the eternal punishment of the lost.

Team Requirements

    1. Appointed team leaders must meet minimum league requirements. No appropriate leaders = No Teams. See Team Roles for more information.
    2. Every participant of your team is responsible to know all the rules that CCSA plays by. Contact the league for a copy of the rules.
    3. Be sure that each team name will glorify God, and reflect and demonstrate Christianity. See Team Name Guidelines for more details.

    Team Name Guidelines

While CCSA respects the right of each team to choose a team name that best reflects the team's objectives and character, we ask that the following guidelines be adhered to:

    1. Team names should glorify God
    2. Acronyms or names that do not clearly or obviously relate to Biblical teachings should nevertheless have a meaning that is consistent with the mission of the CCSA. The league may ask team leadership to elaborate upon the meaning behind the team's name.
    3. Care should be taken to ensure that team names do not have secondary meanings that may be misinterpreted or misconstrued in a manner that is hurtful or inconsistent with Biblical teachings.
    4. Team names must be approved by the pastoral advisor to that team.

The league reserves the right to reject names that are clearly inconsistent with the mission of the CCSA. The league will contact teams if it feels that a team name is problematic. In general, the league will not reject any name that was used by that team in the prior season.

    Duplicate Team Names

With the growing number of teams in the league, we are concerned about the number of confusingly similar or identical team names and consequently we are hoping to eliminate future duplication of team names. Teams are not allowed to register a team name that has the same "root" as any other team in the league.

EXAMPLES: A team will not be allowed to register "Christians Jr." if the name "Christians" has already been used by any other team in either the junior or senior division. Similarly, a team will not be allowed to register "Christians II" if "Christians" or "Christians I" has already been registered.

EXCEPTION: Teams are allowed to register a team name if that same name was used by that team in the immediately prior season. Teams using the same names as used in the immediately prior season will always have priority over any new team that chooses to register the same name.

    Message from Head of Governing

Greetings Team Governors, Coaches, and players,

Spiritual mentors are not necessarily religious leaders. However, they definitely do lead. It is a unique type of leadership that exudes certain qualities and characteristics. They share their experiences and knowledge as a way of guiding others to the spiritual clarity that they have obtained. They commit their lives to improving the conditions of other people rather than their own. They are leaders that inspire self-reflection and empower individuals who have shown to be faithful, available and teachable.

CCSA 2019 Theme: "The Lasting Legacy"

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ

    Ephesians 4:11-13 NLT

Jackie Chan modelled his acting career after Bruce Lee. Luke Skywalker learned "the Force" from Yoda. Similarly, in Jesus’ day, it was a relationship between a rabbi and his disciples. Jesus was called rabbi (or teacher). His apprentices were disciples (learners). A disciple’s job was to follow their rabbi until they absorbed all he had to teach them. Jesus invited twelve ordinary, men to follow him. They learned from his teachings, his interactions with others, and from ongoing conversations with Him. Then after three years of apprenticeship, they had been transformed.

In John 10:10, Jesus says "...My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life." His final instructions to his followers was to spread that good news: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[b] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 NLT.

This the 39th CCSA season. Let us be people, leaders and a league that inspires and is genuinely interested in helping others to discover their own unique purpose and identity in life. Legacy is not leaving something for people, it is what you leave in people.

    In Christ,
    CCSA Governing
